Nuts Are NOT Optional: Tunnel Of Fudge Cake

This recipe requires some prep time but it's really worth it.  Please note that the walnuts are essential for the success of this recipe, so use the full 2 cups and don't chop them real fine.

Tunnel Of Fudge Cake

Cake
3 1/2 sticks butter, softened
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
6 eggs
2 cups powdered sugar
2 1/4 cups self-rising flour, sifted
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
2 cups walnuts, coursely chopped

Chocolate Glaze
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
3-5 tbs. milk, depending on desired thickness for glaze

Mix butter and sugar in large bowl until fluffy.  Add eggs, one at a time, until well blended.  Gradually add powdered sugar, blending well.  Add sifted flour, unsweetened cocoa, and chopped nuts and mix by hand.  Place in a well greased and floured bundt pan and place in 350 degree oven.  Bake for 58-62 minutes.  Cool cake in pan for 1 hour, invert onto cake plate.  Combine glaze ingredients and spoon over cake.  Cake needs to be tightly covered when storing.
